What
in the name of the goddess are you supposed to do when you've got a job
interview, a party to throw, a cow to wrangle...? Here are some five-star
solutions to your problems
Q. I've just applied for a fantastic job
as
PA
to a television producer at an up-and-coming company in Sydney. The company
is well-known for producing offbeat programmes, but I have no idea if
my approach should be serious and professional, or original and wild.
And what should I wear? Help! STRESSED CAPRICORN
A. Dear Stressed Capricorn, you need to summon
up the help of the goddess Athena in this situation. Athena is out there,
the centre of activity, helping and organising. She is intelligent and
self-confident, willing to put herself on the line for her beliefs and
opinions - which sounds like your company! She is professional, worldly,
transforming, a reformer, a social organiser and above all, courageous.
Her crystal is aquamarine, her colour is blue, her flowers and plants
are thyme, laurel, and olives. Her symbols are the shield, Pegasus, the
sword, the snake, spiders, serpents, ravens and owls. (But we recommend
you don't put a serpent in your handbag for the job interview.) Her oils
are bergamot, black pepper, ginger, lime, thyme, sage, peppermint - and
her planet is Mercury. Incorporate some of these elements into your interview
and make a silent plea to Athena for help before you enter the room. But
for true preparation, turn to page 33 of the book and create your personal
goddess ritual, some days before. That way you'll be primed and ready
to go!
Q. I have a big 21st birthday party coming
up and I'm so nervous about it. What can I do?
SOCIALLY SHY SIMONA
A. Dear Socially Shy Simona, you need Hera in your life. This goddess
is good at creating a fabulous environment for her guests, her social
skills are brilliant, and she has her party etiquette down pat. Try to
include the colour royal blue, the tiger lily plant, the crown symbol,
and the scent of sandalwood in your outfit, and your decorations - and
best of all, create a full-blown ritual to Hera, using the advice on page
33 of 21st Century Goddess.
